National Water Supply and Sanitation Council- NWASCO- has called on all commercial water utilities to continue being on alert in view of Cholera outbreak.

NWASCO Director Kelvin Chitumbo says it is important for commercial utilities to ensure they provide clean water to members of the public to discourage them from drinking untreated water from shallow wells.

Mr. Chitumbo says annual and spot inspections are underway in various parts of the country including Lusaka.

He has also appealed to all commercial utilities to avoid water disconnections to cholera affected areas and to respond quickly to any reports or complaints of sewer blockage.

Mr. Chitumbo said this in a statement made available to ZNBC News by NWASCO Public Relations Manager Mpunga Simukwai in Lusaka.
